How to Own 11 Properties and Still Have Time for Your Family…With No Headaches
Carlos is a successful business owner. He started his real estate investment by owning a duplex, and then some single family homes. It quickly became clear that owning properties is just like owning a business: There were tasks and responsibilities that came with each property that required his time.
Even though Carlos had a Realtor who found tenants for his properties, the Realtor could not help when a tenant would pay late. The tenants would not respond to the Realtor’s phone calls, so Carlos had to contact them himself to beg them to pay rent.
When a plumbing broke late in the evening and water was leaking into the house, the tenants called him, very upset. Carlos had to try to find a solution in the middle of the night, when most plumbers were not working.
Several months later, he realized that a tax return had to be filed, but there was no statement that he could give to his accountant. He had to create the statement on his own, using Microsoft Excel.
